Writer’s Association. 2006: Played in all 13
games, with six starts, including the Notre Dame contest in the Sugar

Addai...stepped up late in the year when Addai was slowed by an ankle
injury...responded by rushing for 343 yards and five touchdowns in LSU’s final
six regular season games...led the Tigers in rushing in four of the last five
games, including 56 yards and one TD in the win over Alabama...rushed for a
season-high 89 yards and one score in win over Appalachian State...also caught
nine passes for 61 yards...served on LSU’s coverage units on special teams...had
six special teams tackles in 2005...forced a fumble against
Tennessee. 2004:
Played in all 12 games with four starts...started the first four
games of the season at tailback...rushed for 322 yards and two TDs...caught five
passes for 40 yards...rushed for 102 yards and two TDs in win over Arkansas
State in week two...capped the regular season with 60 yards on 10 carries in win
over Arkansas...also a special teams standout...had nine special teams
tackles...forced a fumble on kickoff coverage against Arkansas State...had two
special teams tackles vs. Florida and Arkansas. 2003: Put together the
finest season for a freshman in LSU history, rushing for a freshman school
record of 1,001 yards in leading the Tigers to a 13-1 overall mark and the
national title...answered the call when injuries forced Joseph Addai and Shyrone
Carey to the sidelines in consecutive games midway through the season...started
for the first time against South Carolina and responded with 77 yards and two
TDs...never relinquished the starting position as he followed his first start
with 127 yards in a 31-7 win over Auburn in a game in which he out rushed
Carnell Williams by 67 yards...capped the season with four straight 100-yard
games, including an SEC Championship game record of 201 yards and two TDs in the
34-13 win over Georgia, and 117 yards and one TD vs. Oklahoma in the Sugar
Bowl...in all, rushed for 100-plus yards five times...named MVP of SEC title
game as well as the Sugar Bowl...ran for an 87-yard TD vs. Georgia, the longest
rush in SEC Championship Game history...also had a 62-yard run vs.
Georgia...opened the Nokia Sugar Bowl with a 64-yard run on the first play of
the game against Oklahoma...rushed for 105 yards on 22 carries vs. Ole Miss and
followed that with 112 yards and two TDs vs. Arkansas...broke Dalton Hilliard's
LSU freshmen rushing record, bettering the previous mark of 901, which was set
in 1982...also rushed for 10 TDs, the second-highest total by a rookie in school
history...Hilliard holds that mark with 11 in 1982, while Kendall Cleveland and
Rondell Mealey each rushed for 10 TDs as freshmen...caught eight passes for 80
yards with four of those coming against South Carolina...is a rare breed in that
he's also a standout on LSU's kickoff coverage unit...had nine special teams
tackles. PERSONAL: Attended
Barbe (Lake Charles, LA) High School...left as the school’s all-time leading
rusher with 5,464 yards on a school-record 904 carries...set school records in
touchdowns in a career (75) and points in a career (462)... only player in
school history to rush for 1,000 yards or more in three seasons...named a
Parade and Prep Star All-American after rushing for 2,050 yards and 30
