Steelers Release Wide Receiver Matt Trannon

PITTSBURGH — The Steelers trimmed their roster today when they released first-year wide receiver Matt Trannon.

Trannon signed with the Steelers as a free agent on January 18, 2008. He originally signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent prior to the 2007 season. Trannon spent parts of the 2007 season on the practice squads of the Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders.
