Steelers Style 2006 will bring out the stylish side of the Steelers, featuring players and their families modeling fashions from Reebok and Macy's in the charity fashion show.

"It gives people a chance to come out and raise money for a good cause," said wide receiver Hines Ward. "Also, as players, we like to dress up and get all spiffy and stuff and go down the catwalk. It lets everybody see the different fashions and styles we have on our team. As players we get a kick out of that."

Ward, along with cornerback Deshea Townsend, are co-captains for the show, which will be held on Thursday, Nov. 30 at the Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel.

"Deshea and I get a kick out of it," said Ward. "We both like to compete against each other and outdo each other. It's fun to have the team participation and the people come out and show their support and want to see some of their favorite Steelers dressed up."

And while some of it is about what the players will wear, it's also about how their personalities shine on the runway.

"I have the personality and the look where you never know what you are going to get," said kicker Jeff Reed. "I am not the type of guy who is going to wear a suit every day. I am not going to turn heads with what I have on. For the most part, I am coordinated. I match the shoes to the shirt and hat. Stuff like that. I am just a jeans guy, something casual that's comfortable.

"It's more about seeing how the guys act out there on the runway than what they wear that's fun for us. It's how they act and the songs that they come out to."

The show benefits the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the Cancer Caring Center. For ticket information, call 412-647-4285.
