Graduated from Clemson in August of 2001 with a degree in sociology and is
currently working on his master's degree in Human Resource
Development…first athlete at Clemson to graduate in three years and have two
years of eligibility remaining…one of the leaders at Clemson in terns of
community service, he was honored with a Top Six Award, presented by the ACC to
the top six student-athletes at each school recognizing them for their community
service…Named a Top Six winner in each of his four years, and is the only ACC
athlete to hold that distinction…an active participant in the Fellowship of
Christian Athletes, he traveled to Spain with an FCA group, where he lectured to
youth groups about American sports and also worked out with a Spanish Rugby
team…attended Toombs County (Lyons, Ga.) High School…averaged more than 10
tackles per game as a senior and collected 75 tackles, eight sacks, seven
recovered fumbles as a junior…earned Class 2A all-state honors as a tight end and all-conference as a
junior and senior in addition to being a WTOC first-team selection…four-year
letterman in football, played in the Georgia North/South All-Star Game…also
named the Class 2A Georgia Basketball Player-of-the-Year and earned All-Region
on the court…was a two-year letterman in track, and received the U.S. Marine
